The Spanish Green Business AssociationECOVE -, is a not-for-profit business association whose mission is to catalyze a sustainable and equitable economy in Spain, Europe and the world, by developing and strengthening green business ecosystems and networks, and bringing the voice of green SMEs and ecopreneurs to decision makers. On the road to that mission, the following objectives guide our step:
  1. Consult and defend the needs and interests of all the companies, members of the Association, working for a green and equitable economy.
  2. To serve as an instrument to improve laws and public policies in the transition towards a green and equitable economy.
  3. Contribute to the development, promotion, and interconnection of green economy ecosystems and green business networks in Spain, Europe and around the world.

Nature and funding

ECOVE is a not-for-profit business association, and therefore the profits made from its economic activities, including the provision of services, shall be used exclusively to achieve its aims.

The financial resources at the disposal of the Association for achieving its aims are:
  • Membership fees established by the General Assembly.
  • Regular fees set by the General Assembly.
  • The products of the goods and rights that belong to the Association; as well as grants, legacies and donations that it receives legally.
  • The revenue obtained by the Association through lawful activities agreed by the Board, always within the statutory purposes.

  • The associative and economic exercise will be annual and its closure will take place on December 31 of each year.


    Board of representatives

    ECOVE’s board of representatives is formed by the following green economy professionals, who are not remunerated for the work related to this role:

  • Secretary: Fernando Rubio
  • Treasurer: Jesus Iglesias

    CHAPTER I – NAME, PURPOSE, ADDRESS AND SCOPE

    Article 1. With the name “Spanish Association of Green Business” -ECOVE- a BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is set up under the Spanish Law 1/2002, from March 22, and other complementary norms, with legal power, full capacity to act, and not-for-profit status. This Association shall be ruled by the provisions of the aforementioned Law of Associations, by these Statutes as they are not in contradiction with the law, by the agreements validly adopted by its governing bodies, provided they are not contrary to the law and / or the Statutes, and by regulations approved, which will have residual character.

    Article 2. This Association is established for an indefinite period, and its dissolution must be carried out in accordance with the laws and precepts contained in these Statutes.

    Article 3. The existence of this business association has the following aims:
    1. To serve as an instrument to improve laws and public policies in the transition towards a green and equitable economy.
    2. Consult and defend the needs and interests of all the companies, members of the Association, working for a green and equitable economy.
    3. Contribute to the development, promotion, and interconnection of the regional green economy ecosystems exising in Spain.

    Article 4. To meet these aims, the Association undertakes the following activities
    • Drafting and broadcasting of press releases.
    • Publication of articles in media, magazines, bulletins, congresses, forums, and any other existing means of communication.
    • Drafting, and dissemination to relevant stakeholders, of documents and position papers for political advocacy purposes.
    • Any other activities aimed at achieving the purposes for which the Association is established.

    Article 5. ECOVE is a statewide, not-for-profit business association, rooted on democratic principles applying to both its organization and operation, and that guarantees the autonomy of the legal entities that constitute it; without prejudice to the binding nature of the agreements validly adopted by the governing bodies of the organization, in matters that affect it as well as the the common interest of affiliated associations.

    Article 6. The Association establishes its registered office at C / ALAMEDA 22 (corner C / San Blas), 28014 Madrid, Spain; with the General Assembly being the competent body to modify it.
